These no-bake double chocolate peanut butter protein balls are quick and easy to make for a great on the go protein packed treat. With a flavor combo of peanut chocolate, chocolate, oats, and honey – you can’t go wrong!

As a busy mom, I  am always on the lookout for quick and healthy snack recipes. These double chocolate protein bites fit the bill perfectly! I am a chocolate lover at heart and these are super rich and satisfying. They are filled with protein and healthy fats and will keep you full for quite a while. Pretty much the best kind of snack if you ask me!

You can whip up these double chocolate peanut butter protein balls in hardly any time. They truly make the perfect grab and go snack. These protein bites are great for when you have to run out the door and don’t have time to eat because they will keep you satisfied for a while!

Protein balls make a great macro balanced snack. They provide a dose of healthy fats, protein, and healthy carbs – however they can be easier to overeat because of how delicious they are. I definitely recommend watching your portions with these and practicing some moderation.

Double Chocolate Peanut Butter Protein Balls Ingredients

  • oats
  • chia seeds
  • cocoa powder
  • ghee 
  • natural peanut butter
  • honey
  • vanilla extract
  • collagen peptides
  • dark chocolate chips

Substitutions

  • Peanut Butter – This recipes works with any nut or seed butter. These would be delicious with almond butter or cashew butter as well.
  • Honey – You can also use pure maple syrup.
  • Coconut Oil – Can be substituted with ghee.
  • Dark chocolate chips – You can use your favorite chocolate chip or swap for raisins.

How To Make No Bake Chocolate Peanut Butter Bites

  1. Melt together the ghee and peanut butter in a small sauce pan on the stove top (you can also do this step in the microwave). 
  2. Other than the chocolate chips, mix in the rest of the ingredients. 
  3. Once mixture has cooled, stir in the chocolate chips.
  4. Allow to chill in refrigerator for one hour.
  5. Form into small balls and store in the fridge. 

Do Protein Balls need to be refrigerated?

You do not need to store these chocolate peanut butter protein balls in the fridge however it will extend their shelf life. These energy bites should last for several days on the counter and unrefrigerated – just be sure to store in an air tight container.

If you want your protein bites to stay fresh for more then a few days then store them in the fridge which will extend their shelf life to 1-2 weeks.

Can I freeze protein balls?

These chocolate protein balls freeze very well. You can store them in your freezer for up to 3 months in an airtight container.

Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup cocoa powder

  • 1/4 cup natural peanut butter
  • 4 T honey
  • 1.5 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 scoops collagen peptides
  • 1/2 cup dark chocolate chips

Instructions

Notes

If the balls are not sticking together you can add a little more honey and if they are too wet you can add a little more oats.
