Servings: 4 servings
- 1 1/2 pounds frozen green beans
- 1/4 cup water
- 2 tablespoons salted butter
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- 1/4 teaspoon salt plus more to taste
- 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper plus more to taste
- 1/2 cup Parmesan cheese grated
- 1 pinch chili flakes optional
Add the frozen green beans and water to a large skillet.
Cover and cook over medium heat for 6–8 minutes, stirring once or twice, until the beans are tender.
Remove the lid and drain any water remaining in the skillet.
Return the skillet to medium heat and add the butter and Italian seasoning.
Stir for 1–2 minutes, until the butter melts and coats the beans evenly.
Season with salt and pepper.
Remove the skillet from the heat. Transfer the beans to a serving dish and top with Parmesan and chili flakes, if using. Serve warm.
Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
Reheat gently in a skillet over medium-low heat or in the microwave. Add a small pat of butter to refresh the flavor.
Serve alongside chicken, pork chops, steak, pasta, or meatballs, or add the beans to a holiday spread.
Chop leftover beans and fold them into an omelet or spoon them over a grain bowl.
