Big Mac Sliders

These Big Mac sliders are inspired by the fast food sandwich and will be an easy dinner the whole family will love. The sliders are easy to make at home with Hawaiian sweet rolls, lean ground beef, a copycat version of the special sauce, pickles, onions, and cheese.

Ingredients

Slider Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 lbs lean ground beef
  • 1/2 c chopped onion
  • 1/2 tsp seasoned salt
  • 21 slices thin sliced cheddar cheese
  • 24 sliced dill pickles
  • 1 tbsp butter, melted
  • 1 container (12 rolls each) Hawaiian Sweet Rolls
  • 1 tsp sesame seeds

Sauce Ingredients

  • 1/2 c Greek yogurt, plain nonfat
  • 2 tbsp ketchup
  • 1 tsp Dijon mustard
  • 1 tsp minced dried onion
  • 3 tbsp dill pickle relish
  • 1/4 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/4 tsp salt

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 375 degrees F. Spray a 9x13-inch baking dish with non-stick cooking spray and set aside.
  • Whisk all sauce ingredients together in a small bowl—Greek yogurt, ketchup, Dijon mustard, dried onion, dill pickle relish, garlic powder, and salt. Set this mixture aside.
  • In a medium skillet, combine the ground beef, chopped onions, and seasoned salt. Cook over medium heat until the beef is thoroughly cooked and the onions are translucent. Drain any excess fat and set the beef mixture aside.
  • Slice the Hawaiian Sweet Rolls horizontally, keeping them connected, and place the bottom half in the prepared baking dish.
  • Spread the prepared sauce onto the bottom half of the rolls. Evenly distribute the cooked beef mixture over the sauce. Layer the cheddar cheese slices and dill pickle slices on top of the beef.
  • Place the top half of the rolls over the pickles. Brush the tops of the rolls with melted butter and sprinkle with sesame seeds.
  • Cover the baking dish with foil and bake for 15 minutes. Remove the foil and continue to bake for an additional 5 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and the rolls are slightly golden.

Notes

Ground turkey can be substituted for the lean ground beef. It may change the flavor of the sliders just a bit.
Add other toppings like lettuce, tomatoes or bacon.
It’s important that you evenly spread the ground beef onto the bottom of the sliders. This will help the cheese melt through and disperse the heat evenly.
