Sloppy Joe Ingredients:
- 1 lb ground beef
- 4 to 6 hamburger buns
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tsp black pepper
- 1 tbsp oil
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp onion powder
- 4 to 6 slices cheddar cheese
- 1 cup sliced pickles
- 1 cup shredded lettuce
- 1 small onion - chopped
Sauce Ingredients:
- 1 cup light mayonnaise
- 2 tbsp pickle relish
- 1 tsp granulated sugar
- 1 tsp white vinegar
- 1 tbsp mustard
- 1 tsp paprika
- ½ tsp salt
- ½ tsp black pepper
In a small mixing bowl, combine all the sauce ingredients. Stir until smooth and well blended. Set aside.
Preheat the oven to 350°F. Place the buns on a baking sheet and bake for 5 minutes, or until lightly toasted.
Heat oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the ground beef, onion, salt, pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. Break up the beef with a spatula and cook for 7-10 minutes, until browned. Drain any excess grease.
Stir in ½ cup of the prepared Big Mac sauce and cook until the mixture is heated through and bubbly, about 2 minutes.
Place a slice of cheddar cheese on the bottom half of each toasted bun. Top with a handful of shredded lettuce. Spoon the beef mixture on top, then add pickles. Spread more Big Mac sauce on the top bun and place it over the filling to complete the sandwich.
Serve immediately while hot and enjoy!
Use a burger chopper or potato masher to break up the beef evenly as it cooks.
Prep the sauce up to 3 days in advance and store it in the fridge.
Drain excess grease after browning the meat for a less greasy sandwich.
Assemble just before serving to keep the buns from getting soggy.
